MHH: Clinton Airline Railroad Stone Bridges in Hudson

    Oct 15, 2020

From the HCTV archives, in 1998, historian Tom Vince tells of the Clinton Airline railroad that was proposed in 1852 by WRA professor Henry Noble Day to run from PA to Tiffin, OH through to Cedar Rapids on the Missouri River as part of a transcontinental line. In the early construction of this, a right of way was established - - Hudson has two artifact 1853 stone arch bridges over Brandywine Creek that rest on timbers, an ancient form of construction.
